Topic: Costco Chicken Salad in MFP

Can't find anything on this -- wonder if anyone here knows...

In MFP, I see (more than) two different items that could be the prepared chicken salad from Costco -- I've looked at these two.

Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Costco, 3.6 oz, 240 cal (there is also a 1/2 cup, 240 cal version)

Chicken Salad Kirkland, Kirkland, 56.0g, 60 cal

Now, I know just from looking at it/tasting it -- the prepared stuff has to be #1 -- my question is where the heck is #2?  2 oz of chicken salad for 60 calories?  Sign me up.

It's been 22 years since I shopped for baby food & found it's expensive now, so I only picked up a couple of jars, but the prices were a factor for me.

Instead I made up tuna salad, subbing plain Greek yogurt for mayo, dropped it in the blender on frappe til it was the consistency of baby food; very high protein & the flavor I missed. Then I portioned it out into square 4oz Ziploc containers I'd picked up from the store. I also pureed yams, & beef veggie soup to store this way. They stack well taking up little room in my fridge & the portion size is right. Easy to grab & go.

Topic: Superfood Veggie Cakes

Couldn't find these listed in the products to review so I'm posting their info here.

Picked a package of these up at Costco 2 weeks ago to try. I really like the flavor, reminds me of spring rolls without the wrappers. The texture is soft & easy to portion into the size bite you need to not upset your stomach. Almost better than that is the ease of preparing them -- Thaw one overnight in the fridge then pop it in the microwave for 25 seconds & it's ready to eat.

I'm stocking up on my next trip to Costco because my daughter likes them too. You can also order them direct online if you don't live near a Costco or have a membership.

Topic: RE: Protein shakes

I used to occasionally puree a banana in my shake - but more like 1/4 of one, because they have quite a bit of sugar in them

Thank you! Seems like a good thing to have around in a pinch, especially at work where prep options can be limited.

Topic: Pre-op shakes

Good Morning,

I am new to this site so please bear with me. I just started my pre-op diet yesterday, my surgery is in 4 weeks. The question that I have is in regards to the sweetness of the protein shakes that I am using. It is way too much. Any ideas how I could cut some of that sweetness? Thanks so much.

Topic: Protein shakes

Good morning!

I made ace my first protein shake at home this morning with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk and Muscle Milk Lite powder Vanilla Creme.  I didn't like the flavor so I added half a banana.

Will I be able to have the half banana puréed after surgery?

I actually liked it, pretty tasty!

Thanks!

Miss B
