I'm not sure if this is best fit here but have any of you had issues with vitamins? Mine tend to make me sick at least if I don't eat solid with it. And its weird I have to eat then take it then eat some more or I will get sick too. I switched from chewables to capsules because the taste of the chewable was awful and made me sick as a dog. X.x any advice??
Thanks!
I was told that we need Isolate whey protein, and not any of the time release ones. I've put protein in oatmeal, yogurts, pudding but I mainly just drink it in my coffee..
as always I would check with your dr's office
BUT
as for me ... I was anemic and was told to take prenatal vitamins which have worked fine for me, my iron levels are great now and it didn't take long to get it leveled out... i currently take the spring Valley brand from walmart and have been for about 3 years now
I'm about 11 1/2 years post op, I can have about half of a small banana (i usually freeze so it can give it more of a creamy texture) but anything more then that will give me pain.
Hi, I am scheduled for my surgery February 20. I have been busy pureeing some foods. The paperwork I had says, blenderize, blenderize, blenderize and they weren't kidding. So I did buy a couple of containers of baby food just in case and have been pureeing leftover meats that I am currently eating and freezing in ice cube trays and transferring to zip lock freezer bags. So far I have done homemade veggie soup, turkey, chicken, pork chop and did try fish but really can't say how it will taste. I even made applesauce since we should be able to eat a little of that afterward.
Hope this helps a little as I am trying to gather any and all the information I can to make this work. I also have bought a baby dish that you pu****er in the bottom of to heat up the small portions we can have.
Good luck on your surgery and hope you post how you are doing.

Grazing is The Big Evil for me.
All sorts of unwanted calories can sneak in.
Meals are easy....portion control and content is straightforward and easy to monitor. But grazing is where the wheels fall off in my experience.
For me, I do fine at home or on days off from work. Grazing hits me the hardest when I'm at work. It's fast paced and manic. There's normally one crisis or another going on. Lunch breaks are rare. It's normally grab and go. Very easy to rely upon vending service snack foods which are nutritionally worthless and don't really fuel anything but cravings for more of the same.
I do best when I plan for success and take all my eats in wth me. Protein powder, tuna packs, some jerky, salad with eggs and etc. Having the stuff there...in remeasured known quantities with known macros makes it easy to stay in line. I try to plan for meals and never snacks. For me, snacks equate to grazing. Evenly spaced...planned...known meals work best. Have them and then forget about food....staying hydrated is only concern in between meals.
When I fail to lose or even have an uptick on the scale.......grazing is typically the reason.
It's so simply, really. Why...why do I overcomplicate it, lol.

One of these day's I'll learn how to post pics in here.
I'm still getting used to navigating and using the format.
In my opinion....tasty protein is about the easiest of things to conjure up. I tend to shop the perimeter of the stores and fresh meats and produce make it home every couple days.
The freezer section is now even better than ever, too. So many crock pot ready meals and low carb frozen eats.
If you enjoy grilling, as I do....then the sky is the limit to what you can do with protein.

I've recently picked up a cookbook that I'd like to use soon.
It's written by Bobby Deen (Paula Deen's son), titled "From Mama's Table to Mine".
He takes some of his mom's famous dishes and offers a lower calorie "healthy" version. He breaks down the macros for each.
Some of the recipes are stuff I can enjoy while in weight loss mode....and some are things I'll simply make for my lean family.
