I had to lose 5% of my current weight so about 10.5 lbs. I went on their diet immediately even though I had a little more than a month before my surgery. I was told to keep my carbs to under 30 grams per day and about 80 or more grams of protein. It's important to keep track of the carbs because most things have carbs in them. I had to cut out everything "white". Bread, pasta, desserts, chips, etc. I thought it would be hard to do but actually once I started I was so motivated for the surgery that I didn't even crave the things I loved. I had a protein shake in the morning, 2 hard eggs and 1/2 cup low sugar, low carb cottage cheese for lunch and a protein meat for dinner with a veggie. I'd look for the lowest carb possible. I stayed away from fruits and fruit juices as they have too many carbs. In the evening however, if I still had carbs and wanted a treat, I'd have sliced strawberries.....always weighed them out first. I was able to lose 21 lb. before my surgery. I am 1 week out today and have lost 5 more.
Good luck to you.

Help, I need to get back on track with vitamins, what do you take and what brands? Has anyone taken the Sundown Perfect Iron?
Congratulations to you!! I just had my surgery February 20, 2017 and need to hear success stories like yours. Keep it up and I am looking forward to my weight loss as well.'

Look for restaurants that offer meat + veggies. Look up the menu in advance online so you can check out the nutritional information. Ask for no bread. Sub veggies for fries. That sort of thing.
I don't know that there are specific restaurants that are particularly good for staying on track. Maybe some of the vets have better advice.

I'm still on liquids, but down the line I'd like to know what my best options are for eating out. I'm also going on vacation to San Francisco this summer so I'd like to prepare for that too.

I had RNY back in 2003 but went plant based last summer. I feel great ever since I did. My main reason for switching was I was informed I had NAFLD so I changed my lifestyle. Most of my daily food is greens.

p.s. just noticed your starting weight in your signature file. Might want to drop your calories a bit and see if that helps. Do you measure/weigh and log everything you eat? I still have to, even in maintenance. Portion creep is real!!
your calories are actually a little on the high side (although I don't know your background - height, starting weight, gender, activity level, etc). I was eating 1000-1200 when I was about a year out. Although everyone's different...

I'm really glad to read this, especially tonight! Tomorrow I begin a process of beginning to 'reset' and get back on track. I am also seeing a new team tomorrow and will be getting the support that I need.
I too was told that a small amount of soda was ok, however I find myself drinking more and more throughout the day. I have allergic type reactions to artificial sweeteners other than Stevia and Monkfruit, so I drink some regular stuff.
But as of tomorrow, I'm cutting down to almost nothing, AND switching to Zevia brand soda which uses stevia. I'm going to work really hard at this issue over the next couple weeks, and work towards eliminating it completely.
I still feel like I have good restriction, however I find myself really hungry every few hours and am eating a lot more. i'm POSITIVE that the soda is the cause of this. I have commented that to my husband many times this week.
Awesome news for you, hope that it is the same for me!
