Topic: RE: How do I retrain my stomach to work the way it did post op?

I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast, wheat crackers and cheese for snack (or Nabs (peanut butter filled cheese crackers)), lunch is usually battered fish and fries or a Hot Pocket, mid day snack is usually more crackers or gramhcrackers dinner is typically fish or venison with a starch and sometimes a veggie. I usually drink a 2L of Dt. Dr. Pepper a day. I'm trying to cut down on the soda and drink more water but it's hard.

Any advice? Thanks

eat high protein low carb. Aim for 60-90 gas of protein a day and the least amount of carbs preferably less than 20 gas. Eat very limited non carb vegetables.

dronk a minimum of 64 oz of sugar free liquid a day. Take your vitamins.

What does a days menu look like for you now.

Topic: RE: Need help!

I did the 5 day reset test and It worked for me. It basically helped with my cravings for sugar and bad carbs. I also had my rny 08/2009 and have regained 20lbs. I am down 10 lbs so 10 more for me till I reach my goal weight. I grazed all day with junk food. I mean all day. You can do this. It's hard but if you go back to the basics you will loss weight. Please check with your doctor thou. Alot of people out there says it doesn't work but I helped me get back on track. I do the 5 day reset like 2 x a month. It's been almost a month since I haven't had any junk food such as pies, cakes, crackers, candies, bread and pastas. It worked for me. Good luck and hope all goes well. I know it's very depressing. well, at least it was for me. I'm back on track and now went back to my food journal and portion control. I weigh my food now and I do not eat anything over 2 oz. I mainly eat alot of vegetables, very little fruit. because i know my pouch still works I blend mines. I know it goes right through me but at least i have nutrients from it.

I have moved over from standard low carb to the Keto diet. The higher fat diet is very satisfying and curbs most of my boredom eating.

Topic: Any coffee creamer/whitener when on pre-surgery Optifast?

Hi All,

I'm preparing for my surgery in late November, and I started my first week of a 5 week Optifast diet. It's not bad, I don't mind the shakes though the hunger pains are rough and the lack of energy is making work tough, but I'll manage. I have been on decaf coffee for over a year, but because I'm on Optifast and I am not supposed to eat anything other than the shakes, and because I like cream in my coffee, I've been off it. However, I'd really, REALLY love some coffee in the morning. Does anyone know of or have experience with some type of coffee creamer or whitener that I can use and not blow my Optifast-only diet? I'm tempted to just mix up a vanilla Optifast shake and use it, but the instructions indicate that it "should be consumed immediately after preparation".

Any ideas would be appreciated, I just want a cup of coffee... Thanks.

I like the Orgain protein shakes very much. You can get this at Costco or order on line. I like them as they don't have a lot of additives/garbage and taste pretty decent. I add a little vanilla. They come in Chocolate and Vanilla. Sometimes I will add a half of banana and I use almond milk so very low in calories as well.
