Benefiber is soluble fiber to firm up your stool and miralax is a laxative to keep things moving.

Unjury makes an unflavored protein powder that many like. It's not flavorless, like benefiber, or miralax, but you can add it to things like soups or other soft foods to up the protein.

Topic: Question about protein

I keep reading about protein powders and how they are tasteless and can be used in anything. Where can I find these powders? Also, where can I find recipes to make my own protein shakes? Thanks

Your water is way too low - try to get at least 64 ounces a day.

Topic: RE: Iron and multivitamins

It would help to know a little about you and your surgery, and where you are at right now with your ferritin levels. You want your ferritin levels to be above 180-200 ideally. I've had RNY, and I use VIta4Life Multi-Plus formula. My surgeon swears by these products, and I've been using these multivitamins for years due to his recommendation and I've never had any lab results come back poorly. I once had a vitamin D result that was low, but that was easily fixed with additional supplements for 6 months. I take 2 in the AM, 2 at lunch, and 2 in the PM. Not knowing anything about you, it's hard to tell you how much iron you should get and really, no one but your doctor is qualified to tell you that but, you can't go wrong by trying these out. I wish you all the best! Here's the link to what I take. http://www.amazon.com/Vita4life-Bariatric-Multivitamins-Mult i-plus-Formula/dp/B008A0INO2/

Topic: RE: What Vitamins Need to be tracked after Band Surgery?

It sounds to me like you've had the lap-band procedure done? First, you can get back on track. Don't lose hope. :) I'd recommend you take a high quality multivitamin to keep your labs in ideal ranges. I'm a lap band patient as well, and I take Vita4Life Mini Multivitamin. My labs have always come back spot on. It's very lap band friendly and you don't need to worry about it getting stuck. If you are concerned, you can always open the capsule and put the powder in yogurt or something, but it's really never been necessary for me. These are what I take and my surgeon recommends them. http://www.amazon.com/Vita4life-Bariatric-Multivitamins-Comp rehensive-Multi-vitamin/dp/B008A0ML4K/

These are the tests he orders once a year. Complete bood count (CBC), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), albumin, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), calcium, cholesterol panel, direct and total bilirubin, electrolytes, fasting glucose, ferritin, folate, hemoglobin A1c, iron saturation and transferring, magnesium, phosphorus, total protein and vitamin B12, thiamine and vitamin D. I hope this helps!

Topic: RE: How much B12?

That's a crazy high amount of B-12 to be taking. No wonder you're toxic! I take Vita4Life Multi-Standard formula, but until you are in normal ranges again you shouldn't take anything with B-12 in it. When you get back within normal ranges, you really should consider this multivitamin instead. I've never had any issues with toxcicity or deficiency and I've been using their multi and calcium for years now. Good luck!

Gotcha. If you're following your NUT's advice, you're probably fine. Weight loss isn't necessarily linear. Pre-op, I had some weeks where I lost 6 lbs and some where I gained half a pound doing the exact same thing.
