Topic: RE: Water makes me nauseous (the smell)

That happened to me, but with the taste! I loved water before surgery and then I couldn't stand it. Now, I add navel oranges and strawberries to my pitcher and it is excellent at flavoring it! I also ask for a lemon slice when I'm out. Seems to do the trick for me:). Hope that helps!

I am doing this!!! Getting to my goal!

AWESOME for both of you ladies!  I myself am a THRIVE promoter and have used THRIVE -- I have also started a group on here for support for others that have been "in my boat" or something similar...

As a medical professional -- I was REALLY skeptical...however, it has helped me tremendously!

I would try it and stick with it if you can -- you could use the experience before AND after -- even if you have had any sort of surgery (ALWAYS consult with your personal physician though)...

Good luck though and let me know if I can help in any way!

I deal with my chocolate cravings by eating chocolate.  There are thousands of low calorie, sugar-free recipes using cocoa, sugar-free syrups, and healthy ingredients.  I make sugar-free fudge, brownies, cookies, cakes and muffins.

I count the calories in those treats and eat them instead of a meal or snack.  The taste is not the same as full sugar and it costs more but I found it very worthwhile to just have things that satisfy my cravings.  Have you tried the Chocolate Brownie Quest bars?  I heat one in the microwave for 10 seconds and it gets soft and gooey.

If you can tolerate sugar alcohols, there are some delicious Atkins bars that taste like Snickers or Almond Joy candy.

There is a site called Maine Cottage Foods that sells sugar-free chocolate that does give me sugar alcohol problems.  I love their milk chocolate crunch bars.  They also have a great mint bar that is like a peppermint patty taste and a chocolate cherry bar and many other flavors.

I use chocolate protein shakes to make chocolate ice cream.

I did not try to change the things that I love.

I make the things that I love good for me.

Topic: Question about protein brands

I found these great fruit smoothie recipes using vanilla protein powder. I'm thinking these would be perfect in the mornings since I have a hard time eating in the mornings.

My friend told me to get Isolate Whey Protein Powder. I'm just not sure what brands are better or where to get them. I found some at Walmart, but I didn't feel like they had a quality product. Not that I could tell. I just want to be sure before I spend that much money on something I can't use.

Thanks

I have never baked with protein powder, but you may try looking at "world according to eggface". I know she does a lot of baking with protein powders.

I was wondering about protein powder and baking. I know the 140 degree rule but does that include baking?
