is there a recipe builder out there where I can put in everything I put into a recipe and it pops out the nutritional information? I am really wanting to starting using my fitness pal and I make the same recipes over and over so this would save me tons of time.
Thank you!! I feel a better now. I was so worried. Thank you everyone for sharing your comments. Isn't this a great way to communicate? This website was the only support system I had after my surgery. My support meetings were too far away. So thank you again, all!
I was cleared for it at 1 month and have had several cups a day for 9 years without issue... some Dr's want you to avoid during healing for the reasons stated above dehydration, acidity, etc. but most know it's a part of our lives and allow it in moderation (ask yours if he is a masochist or not LOL) Also if you had health conditions pre-op that coffee might aggravate they might not allow... so def. a Q for your medical team.
Hope you get the OK. I actually think it helps me not snack... and brown water is water ;)

Be sure to ask your WLS folks. Personally, I drink full caffeinated coffee. One-two cups/day. I also drink 150-220 ounces of water/day. IMO...I flush enough that irritation does not occur and the other thought by many NUTS/Physicians is that it is dehydrating. Not in my case. Everyone is different as this board is quick to point out.
Personally, I enjoy my morning cup. And was so pleased when it was allowed in my food plan at 3-months post-op.
Good luck with your journey!

I'm not limited at all. I drink a lot of coffee, too. Regular during the day and decaf after 6 pm

It is filtered cows milk, higher in protein and lower in sugars than regular milk.
My surgeon also told me it can increase appetite. It has not affected mine so I drink lots of it.

When I can't eat meat - I eat eggs, make protein shakes, make protein pancakes, protein waffles, etc.
check eggface profile for great recipes,
she even has protein ice cream...
as what protein shakes are the best - is very individual. I like whey isolate - but a couple of years ago I developed allergies to dairy proteins so I needed to switch to vegan proteins. You need to find some that you like and can tolerate.

Im ten years out from RNY,,lost 140 pounds,,regained 60 due to the fact that I cannot tolerate most proteins, Every time I eat red meat, chicken, or some cuts of pork, they all come right back up. I immediately start the "foamies" and have to go get rid of it. I can eat fish, shellfish, cheese, but I find Im averaging about 40 grams of protein or less per day. I can however tolerate almost any carbs,,and that is the reason for my weight gain. Also, I got back into the habit of drinking when I eat. I am currently working on that. My Vitamin D, B12, and Magnesium and Iron are all low so I am on a regimen of supplements for that, but what can I do to help this protein problem? I would appreciate any ideas. Im serious about getting back on track and have been eating salads and tuna, and an occasional protein shake. What is the best protein on the market, should I include shakes everyday? My surgeon has retired, so am looking for help wherever. This site helped me immensely when I had my surgery and for a couple years after. Thanks for any help and input.
