My surgery was September 30, 2002. I had a RNY and lost 165 lbs. I have been able to keep over 100 lbs. off (haven't weighed in a while) but have started to gain due a candy addiction...I know, stupid. So, recently I have decided it is time to look at this again and do something about it. This far out, you kinda put it to the back in your head. It is now front & center. I need the info on the required vitamins and supplements we need to take. I have been terrible, in fact, non-existent, with vitamins for several years. I did have the B-vitamin nasal spray and I liked it but I don't have a way to get a RX for it now. I do know with vitamins that there is a big difference in quality. Which are better? Which do you prefer?

the use of calcium citrate supplements with or without vitamin D could increase the risk of heart attack by as much as 30%.

Hope this helps you for your solution
I must ask. What are you eating thats causing the dumping? I am by no means a vet, but I have quickly learned if I dump on something not to eat it again! I have seen others post before that they dump quickly if they drink with their meals/snacks. I hope this resolves for you! You may try posting in the RNY forum for more answers.

Yes, I lift weight 4-5 days a week, and it is a pretty intense routine. I feel really good about it, but I think when I started lifting is when my weight slowed a bit. It is still coming off...a little at a time now. About 1-2 Pounds a week...I have been keeping myself at the 1200-1400 calories, but it is all quality intake. Protein, Vegetables, Light Greek Yogurt, Cheese, some nuts, etc. The only carb that I really do eat is Oatmeal with flaxseed in the morning. I include cinnamon. This helps me regulate the reactive hypoglycemia that I was recently diagnosed with.
I am actually glad I was diagnosed hypoglycemic because it actually acts as another fail safe for me. I don't want to feel sick, so I won't eat things that aren't good for me. :)
Anyhow...so far so good...slow, but still moving.
I was wondering if anyone has this receipe book. Four recipes for it appeared in fitnessRX. 3 of the four looked pretty carby, although they were low GI/GL carbs.
Is the book pretty protein forward? Does it supply nutritional information for each recipe?
It is not at my local library, dying to find out more info.

Here are the things that I pureed -- https://www.myvsg.net/2-uncategorised/142-pureed-food-i-ate
Can you find a different protein powder? I've got to admit, that my shake has never tasted dry or chalky to me! I use optimum nutrition double rich chocolate protein powder in unsweetened almond milk. Same shake I've been using for.. um.. 19 months now?

Thanks Gwen. What were some of your favs during the pureed stage?
I think I may get the "go ahead" for that later this week at 3.5 weeks. Seems strange to me, but I am not really craving anything "bad" (Cheeseburgers, Pizza, Pasta, etc.) right now. What I am really wanting at this point is something like Tuna or Chicken Salad (which I am hoping to soon have in pureed stage), and the ultimate would be a mixed salad or sushi, but I know that is still a long way ahead. Think I must be missing something with moist texture the most. All of this dry chalky protein powder and liquids are beginning to wear thin !

Post-op its always good to have liquid diet and light food which are easy to digest
I am another one for the bariatric advantage calcium chews. I get the 500s, and I have the caramel and the chocolate ones. It helps when I need something sweet too.
I was on full liquids for 2 weeks, pureed foods for 2 weeks, and then soft solids for 2 weeks.
