I just started a 3 week pre-op diet as well. I cook for my 5 year old granddaughter and it isn't easy! I have a picture of myself on my fridge and my mantra is "Nothing tastes as good as being thin will feel". I'm having trouble with headaches while I'm trying to adjust to this diet so by the time I get home from work I feel horrible. I spent all day Sunday cooking meals that can be stored and heated up for the others in my house. Make me only suffer through the cooking one day and helps me get through to bedtime when I get home. Good luck!!
Problem is i was never told "not to eat" certain foods. I clearly learnt by trial and error. But I have been o****il recently
thanks for responding
Yes, I agree with you. My family Dr has been monitoring my health. I have been taking care of my Mom for the last 10 years in our home suffering with severe Alzheimer's so it is not always possible to do what is needed. My bloodwork came back great! Thank you for your reply. S
No matter how long ago you, Sharna, you had surgery they say one should see the surgeon at least once every year!
I wonder if you might even sub conscientiously being chewing on ice to prevent you from overeating. I know for myself that I drink a LOT of flavored water in order not to overeat. I drink between 84 - 120 oz of flavored water EVERYDAY. I know also for myself, I need to be careful and NOT to drink to much water as one can drown from drinking to much liquid. Someone near where I live DID drown from CONSUMING to much liquid!

Pica is a disorder where people feel the urge to eat items of little or no nutritional value, such as soil, chalk, sand, or glass. This disorder generally occurs amongst children and people who have developmental issues.
Pagophagia is a form of pica—it’s a disorder where people have the constant urge to consume ice, or iced drinks. But, why is eating ice bad for you? Chomping on a piece of ice may appear to be a seeminglyharmless habit, but it can actually be detrimental to your teeth.

First off, I'd like to point out that those of us who have had WLS are not supposed to have any form of liquor. I was told after surgery that I could eat bread if TOASTED, however, my stomach is unable to handle toast. My stomach is also unable to handle eggs and most red meats. I am ALMOST a complete vegetarian. I do, however, eat chicken and turkey.
Thank you Nancy. How about wine? Coffee? I think these two beverages have worn out their welcome !
First off you should try eating meats that are baked or grilled, that are not so full of fillers. The first year is one of the most important years to really retrain the way you eat. Don't start on a bad foot and eat lol that processed meat. Not to meant that popcorn chicken has breading on it that is no good for you! Make sure you are following your doctors diet plan as well!
