Topic: Side Effects of Raspberry Ketone Supplements & Tips on Avoiding Them

First, you may find yourself wondering what some of the possible raspberry ketones side effects are. While there has never been a scientific study performed on humans to determine if they has any side effects, some people who have taken raspberry ketones have reported side effects. Since they are made with a stimulant called synephrine, some individuals who have taken them have reportedfeelings of jitteriness, which can also lead to insomnia.

Two of the other possible raspberry ketone side effects are elevated blood pressure and a rapid heartbeat. One individual who took the supplement reported feeling shaky and having heart palpitations (a racing heartbeat).

Dehydration can cause nausea, so you've got to make sure you're getting at least 64 ounces. More is better.

How much fluid are you getting in every day?

Are you taking a PPI such as Prilosec or Nexium?

I do see a lot of people eat nuts, but that was on my "foods to avoid" list.  Aren't they hard to digest?  Not really questioning your advice, just trying to seek understanding!

Topic: RE: 8 yrs post op- alof of stomach problems

I had a list of items to avoid and in caffeine and alcohol were both on that list because of ulcers. Sweets and fried foods were a definite no-no.  I was told that I shouldn't have anything that is more than 7 grams of sugar per serving.  I must say that I don't crave sweets and I had a sweet tooth.  I have been good about the sweets, but I worry about my will power around the holidays!  I was also told that some people are not able to tolerate dairy or red meat.  I was told no soft breads or pasta, but toast/crackers are OK.  I can send you the list I received from my doctor.  I haven't tried pasta, but I can't imagine a life without pasta.  My surgery was just the end of May.  On the other hand, I do no want to try it for fear that I won't be able to stop!  I believe the bread and pasta will ball up and have trouble getting in and out of the pouch. I'm surprised you didn't have a restricted food list.  I guess that there is more knowledge about this now...thanks to people like you did it 10 years ago!  I appreciate that you led the way!

Nancy, thank you for your reply.  We have had a few tests done on him and so far he hasn't tested positive for anything.  We have also met with a nutritionist who gave me no information that I didn't already know.  He is due for his annual physical again soon and I will talk to the doctor about possible failure to thrive and see if we should test again for anything.  Is there any real difference between a dietician and a nutritionist?

I hated the fruity drinks.  The only ones I could stomach were vanilla, coffee and chocolate flavored from Nectar.  Thank goodness this phase didnt last long!  I found drinking broth to be my best option, plus water of course.
