Thank you so much. Would you mind sending it to my email? My address is [email protected] I'm going to try to not have a revision. I feel like my sleeve still works I just want a little extra help. I really appreciate it! Julie

Topic: RE: HELP! Most convenient way to get required supplements/vitamins

Well, I just got off the phone with the MD owner of PatchMD, who was kind enough to return my call this morning. I ran down the list above, and he said he's seen great lab results from people in my position who use 1 of the Multivitamin patches, 1 of the Vit D patches and 1 of the B complex patches per day.

So, I'm going to order and try these and see what the lab results are over the next year.  I'll post again with results as I go along. Keeping my fingers crossed that this regimen will really live up to the claims - and logically, I believe it should. Time will tell, as with everything in this arena!

Hi Julie - I've been back for about 10 days now after revision surgery. I had my VSG 4 years ago. I was at about the same weight as you are now before this revision. Do you know how to do attachments on this website? I could scan the current diet regimen I brought home with me and attach it to you, perhaps via PM? I've never tried doing that before, but maybe it's possible if we're "friends"? Or, I could upload it somewhere in the cloud, if there's a storage spot with share facility. Just let me know. Good luck!

Don't buy anything like that right now... you won't need them for quite awhile... 8 weeks generally for solid food and even then bars are usually quite a bit down the road. They would be bricks ;)

Essentially powdered peanut butter is defatted peanut butter (80-90% of the fat is removed) so you are left with a peanut flour (corn starch-ish consistency) and yep a nice addition to shakes, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Watch additives... I have not looked at the stats of Jif but I'd venture to guess they add sugar... I prefer Chike PB flavor wise (very good quality nuts I think) or PB2... anyway they are both online, PB2 I have seen in Costco from time to time too.

Trust me though don't buy too much... you truly are eating tablespoons for awhile... broth in a box, make some homemade and freeze in ice cube trays, water, a good whey isolate protein... I love the new Celebrate Vitamins Protein 20 line. Hope this helps a bit :)

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. You are welcome to check out my blog link in signature and on profile page for some post op tips and recipes, etc.

I had my vsg done by dr Aceves on March 18,2010. I got down to 160 and have slowly gained back 25lbs. I really am wanting to get that back off and was wondering if anyone is a recent patient of Mexicali bariatric clinic had an updated post op diet? I would like to see other diets from other clinics as well. Thank you!!

The result of this study refutes the prevailing theory – for a body to lose fat it requires a decrease in insulin production and a release of stored fat from fat tissue, thus increasing the burning of body fat.

Topic: HELP! Most convenient way to get required supplements/vitamins

Hey everyone!

I was just revised to a DS, and am getting a little dizzy trying to figure out how to configure the vitamins and supplements I need. I'd like to use patches as much as possible, or chewables, to cut down on the number of pills, as I already have a fair number of other daily meds I take.

Here's the breakdown of what Mexicali Bariatric is specifying:

Multi-vitamin: 2 per day (I'm going to email and ask what the vitamin/mineral composition they're assuming; it's not specified)

Zinc lozenge gel caps: 50 mg every 3rd day

Iron liquid/shots (fasting): 100mg oral daily; 100mg intramuscular 1x/month

Calcium citrate: 1200 mg 2x day

Vit D: 2000IU daily, or 500,000IU weekly

Vit A: 10,000IU daily

Vit K: 200 mcg daily

Vit E: 250 IU daily

B complex sublingual: 1 per week, or 1 shot per month

Thanks for helping me sort this out! Also, where do you go for your shots? Are there any alternatives to your PCP?

hi there,

pb2 is a different product then the jig powder.  it is very tasty.

quest bar is an excellent bar... 20 grams of protein, 5 carbs 180 cals, and 17 grams of fiber.  they have a ton of flavors.  my fav is the pb and strawberry jelly,

i like a iced tea protein drink by nectar... 24 grams of protein.

on the website syntax you can get many samples very cheap.. by single packets till you find a flavor you like.

good luck on the surgery.  GBP is the best thing i ever did for myself.
