I am having a really difficult time losing weight. I have eliminated sweets from my diet but don't really have the space in my kitchen or the time in my day to make weekly menus and measure every bite of food. I'm considering going back on Weigh****chers. I have always been able to lose about 30lbs doing Weigh****chers and I was hoping I could get some suggestions.

I've also had luck with Atkins, but my boyfriend wouldn't survive it. No carbs would drive him crazy. I just need to see the needle on that scale move before I lose faith or have it cause a problem with my insurance.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I just need help.

If you do not have time to make weekly menus and measure every bite of food, you will have trouble post-op. Measuring is important in the beginning because your nerves are not healed and you will hurt yourself if you eat too much. Measuring may be important when you get to maintenance if you experience regain and need to lose the weight again.

Honestly, I did not lose a single pound in my six month pre-op supervised diet. I'm sure I made tons of excuses then, too. But since then I have taken responsibility for what I eat and I never make excuses now. I needed surgery to get me motivated to make changes. I hope the same holds true for you.

The butter pecan is really good too.  I love it in the vanilla Premier Protein shakes.

I see this post was from last month but I just wanted to reach my hand out for a bit of support. Please make sure you are getting your protein in like you are supposed to! Protein shakes keep me SO full. Mix them with some skim milk and ice in your blender. It will feel like you're getting a treat. Good luck! *hugs*

I totally agree! Ive been using the chocolate whey protein powder from walmart. Yesterday I found some mint flavoring specifically for protein shakes at Walgreens. It was in the section with the protein powder. I bought a bottle on a whim. Today I used my Ninja (if you dont have one they are AWESOME) and blended skim milk (extra protein) with a scoop of powder, some ice and a squirt of that mint flavoring. I feel like im getting a treat (something I shouldnt be having). This is the only way im going to do it from now on. They also have a butter pecan flavoring im interested in trying in vanilla shake.

The darn "spelling corrector "  erased the first part .. sorry .  This is a very interesting study , thanks .   It bears out my personal experience post op which is that I can get away with overeating a certain amount of fat free carbs but rarely  excess fats .

I wonder if some of the justification for refusing to put down the   fat on here comes from posters being used a certain "  high"after eating which is made exponentially more powerful by adding extra fats .

used t o a certain high after eating .

5 years post op I STILL overeat .  I try to make necessary lifestyle changes that will lead to greater happiness/ less pressure to find comfort in excess bites ... and I find myself eating when i'm not hungry ..But because i'm overeating  fat free carbs ... I dont end up wearing the evidence .

I feel so sorry for posters on here *****gained huge amounts of weight ... I'm sure it had a lot to do with overeating FAT .  Its just not possible to eat that many extra calories of complex carbs .. even a whole potful of rice is way less fattening than a bucket of fried chicken ... ice cream is a far more fattening slider food than ice milk .  We eat more fat here in America ( per capita overall and as a far higher percentage of the total calories we ingest ) than almost anywhere in the world... and we are an incredibly overweight population.  Yet we argue endlessly with the OBVIOUS telling ourselves eating oils and butter and real cream is going to help us lose weight

If you don't have time to plan or prepare your own food now what do you plan to do after surgery?
