How much Protein do I need..?
About 60 grams per day. Cottage cheese and protein drinks are the best way to get that much in during the first few months. I still eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese a day and have 1 protein drink a day and I'm 10 months post op!
I noticed your other post about protein/carbs. During the first few weeks, you need to eat what you can - mashed potatoes, crackers, etc, but as you start to be able to eat more solid foods, the carbs should go down. Remember, utilize the first 6 months 'honeymoon' period to it's utmost. This is when you will really lose the weight!
