How to keep food warm

Good morning everyone,

This is my first post. I had Roux N Y on January 3rd. Everything is going GREAT and I am very happy with the results so far. I began to be able to eat pureed food last Thursday. I am trying to slow down my eating and take the suggested 20-30 minutes to eat, but I am finding it difficult for two reasons.

1) The amount of food is obviously very small. Breakfast is one scrambled egg, etc etc.

2) The food gets cold if I slow down long enough.

Other than simply microwaving the plate halfway through the meal, has anyone found a way to keep their food warm for their slower eating times?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

At this point I wouldn't worry about making meals lasting 30 minutes. On a side not, I didn't have a RNY and my nutritionist said if I was taking longer than 15 minutes to eat, I might be eating too much.

I'm still at the puréed stage, where everything is measured so I know I'm not eating too much. Just trying to go slower. :)

I think at this stage I'd get eat slow but not so slow that your food gets cold.

Place boiling water in a bowl, and put your larger plate or bowl on top of that and food will stay warm.

I am sure you can think of more was to keep a plate hot that don't requiring getting up to reheat.

Hi Mike,

I use a mug warmer. They are cheap on Amazon and work well. Good luck!

You should buy a ho****er bottle and keep it under the plate. I hope it will work for you.

Foil or a hot towel will help. Another good option is to wrap a plate of food tightly with a hot towel, or pour a bowl of ho****er and put the container with the food in it. I often do this.
