Examples of 100 g protein

I just had my six month check in and my doctor said my protein numbers were a little low and to up my intake to 100 g a day.

I'm told that the body can only absorb about 30 g in one meal so I'm left wondering how to get in 100 g in a day. I don't want to rely so heavily on whey protein and keep to whole foods if possible - other than my morning smoothie which is about 30 g.

Would appreciate any posts of examples of daily meal plans for those who also need this much protein.

Thank you!!

Lisa

The 30 grams at a time thing is a myth. So at least you don't need to worry about that :)

The body typically absorbs everything you eat that is digestible unless you have malabsorption.  It is not correct that you only absorb 30g "at once."  You will eventually process all of the protein.

3 ounces of meat = ~21g of protein.  So you would need to eat approximately 15 ounces of meat a day.  High protein dairy includes plain greek yogurt. 100g of greek yogurt has 10g.

I eat extremely low carb, however even if I only eat 1-2x a day, I alway**** at least 60-80g usually, depending, though I eat basically no vegetables so I have sleeve space for the protein.  It might be harder closer to surgery when you can eat less.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I malabsorb protein, so I also have to get in at least 100 grams a day.  I hate to say this, but I still have to have a protein shake every day. It's just really hard for me to get all that through food.  I guess if I ate meat all the time I could, but I'd get tired of that really quickly.

A bunch of meat. 15 ounces or more.

I eat by the clock. 8, 11, 2, 5, 8. Three or four ounces per meal wil do it.

A lot of people continue with protein shakes for breakfast. Most for the first year, some do it indefinitely.
