Post op full liquid diet
I'm just 2 weeks out from RNY and am having a hard time with the protein shakes - I don't like sweets and can barely choke down the same old chocolate, vanilla, and other sweet-tasting protein supplements. I also found that my tastes have changed a little after surgery and the "chicken soup" flavored protein from Unjury isn't as good as it was before surgery. I've tried things like mixing PB2 peanut butter with Isopure unflavored protein, as well as low-carb, low-fat cheese powder with the Isopure, but most days I barely manage to make my protein goal, and some days I've fallen far short because I just can't stand the sweet stuff. I've looked for different protein products, but there's not a lot of variety out there. I'm looking forward to my diet advancement this week, but I'm worried about not getting enough protein if I can't stand to supplement with the shakes. Does anybody have any ideas?
Full liquids means that you can have creamed soups. I used Isopure unflavored powder mixed in with my soups. You don't have to be on broth any longer. I would just mix a scoop of the Isopure into my soup and it was barely noticeable. Hope this helps!

Early out, I added a bit of cocoa powder to cut the sweetness to the shakes, and I had to drink them super cold, it also cut the sweetness. Now they don't bother me at all.

One thing that has saved me so far is getting wonton soup broth and mixing it with the organic broth with protein. Then I add the Isopure zero carb powder. It is like you can have Chinese food. It's probably terrible in sodium, but I needed to brake the sweet. It made me nauseous.
