I'm confused. Can somebody shed some knowledge on the protein powders and drinks for me? People keep telling me to double check the protein shakes to see how long they last before they breakdown because then it's a waste to even consume them since it is like drinking pointless calories. I don't understand. Does this mean that only  certain ones won't breakdown? How do I find out which ones do and which ones don't? I can only fit so much volume in my stomach now so does this mean I have to drink the shake as fast as possible before its no longer good? I want something I can sip at my own speed but I don't want to be wasting time and money trying to drink something that isn't even doing anything good for me. I'm so confused! What is it that makes the protein breakdown and how can I avoid this issue? I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing right now and its getting just a touch overwhelming :(

also has anyone ever tried mixing their protein powders in with a greek yogurt? does that even sound like a good idea? all thoughts/opinions appreciated. Thanks everyone!

It's not wise to let shakes sit all day (even in the fridge) so drink what you can and maybe within a hour or so but beyond that especially if you add things to it... it's more about bacteria than degrading protein but that too a bit. Can you just make 1/2 and make the other 1/2 later?

You can mix protein powder in a million things LOL check my blog link below and yogurt is one... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2014/07/greek -yogurt-6-protein-packed-breakfast.html

I was told that we need Isolate whey protein, and not any of the time release ones.  I've put protein in oatmeal, yogurts, pudding but I mainly just drink it in my coffee..

Good ideas! I still need to find an unflavored protein that I can add to things. I've just been drinking the shakes but I haven't experimented with adding it to meals/snacks yet. I did find a really clever idea on Pinterest for us coffee lovers though. Basically, you can just order a couple shots of espresso over ice in 16oz cold cup and then pour your protein shake in. So you're not completely forced to give up your iced lattes. It's silly but I got SO EXCITED when I found this idea!
