I'm lost - 7 weeks out, what should I be eating?

I am 7 weeks out from my surgery and I am a little stuck. I have been surviving mainly on Premier Protein with some cottage cheese, a few scrambled eggs and some lentils (from soup). I am just not sure how to proceed and my nutritionist is not getting back to me. My roommate's family cooks with a lot of garlic and onions so I am kind of afraid to eat the casseroles they are eating. Can someone just give me some pointers on what to add and when? Do I jsut try normal food now? I read something about food getting caught in staples so tha worried me.  I really appreciate the help and any recipe ideas. I prefer beans to other proteins.

thanks!!!!!

Wow...so prior to surgery you weren't given week to week instructions on what foods to eat/add as you progressed?  I've never heard of that, so I have no idea.  I think perhaps your best bet is to post in the RNY specific forum, I bet you will get lots of info there.  Best of luck!

I had the Gastric Sleeve - not sure how to update the surgery type on my profile.  I got a very vague one page sheet on what to at. Liquid, then Full Liquid, Soft Dairy, Soft Vegetables, Scrambled Eggs, Chicken.  I was hoping someone who has been ther, done that had a bit more of a pattern for me to follow.

at 7 weeks you should be able to try meat, fish, chicken, all cooked very moist. canned tuna n chicken , ricotta cheese with marinara sauce and cheese heated is good. Wendy's chili or homemade is good.

You want to think dense protein and low carb begs.

Stay away from casseroles. Most are calorie bombs.

Hi DiTrying,

We are so glad you reached out for help.  Congrats on your surgery and asking for help.  Who did your surgery?  Who is your surgeon?  You can add their name just the same way you added your surgery type and date.

To edit/change your surgery type, date and or add surgeon, click the * in the upper right hand corner.  Medical history.  Click the little wrench to add the surgeon's name.  Type in his/her name in the Surgeon field, and select the name when it comes up (if they are no in our data base just add it) and then save.    If you need further help just let me know.   We are here for you all the way!
