Coffee

My surgery is Monday, June 6th.  I can't wait.  My question is my surgeon told me no more coffee after surgery.  I only drink maybe 1 cup in the morning.  I don't understand why I won't be able to have any.  Is this going to be for a lifetime?  How have you all handled this and were you told the same thing?

My dietician had me wait til my 2 week  post op and then I was cleared for coffee.

I was told to wait a few weeks, so don't worry, its not for a lifetime...

WHEW!   I LOVE that first cup of coffee in the morning and since I work 2nd shift on occasion (not often) I'll have a cup around 8:00P.  Thanks for responding so quickly.

I'm almost 3 years Sleeve post op and I mainly drink coffee with high protein, low calorie milk and sugar free coffee syrups with sweet and low.....daily and up to 6 cups in a day....no probs. You would start out slow though and see if your new baby stomach can tolerate coffee and any other new item.

Thank you mmmesser.  I think I may have misunderstood him, but I'll ask again Monday after surgery.  I think like most have said it's only temporary until I heal.

My surgery was on June 11th and I enjoy having that one cup too!  Thanks for asking this question.  My doctor said he prefer me to have ice coffee for a while and possibly decaf due to dehydration.  I'm ok with decaf, I just like the warm mug in my hand. ?

My Surgery was 6/9/16-I was worried about the Coffee too. I had a decaf coffee recently-tasted great! Best advice ask your team I will be doing that this Thurs on my 4 week postop. Good luck!
