Hello Everyone! When you are planning your meals for the day what are the numbers you aim for?

What stage are you at in your journey?

Thanks for sharing!

I would also like to know the answer.  I am 3 years post op and have slipped 20lbs back on from my lowest weight.  I would really like to get back on track but I'm finding our needs seem to be a little different from that of normal "dieters".  Am I wrong?  For example someone told me Weigh****chers would not work because it allows us too much food!  Feedback is appreciated!

Watch "Forks over Knives".  You sound like me.  I am four years out.  I had gained 20 pounds & was worried about getting my weight back.  Since my wife & I started this 2 months ago the 20 pounds are gone. Back to my low weight.  My wife who had gained weight over the years have lost 20 pounds too.  Her high blood pressure would burst the red vessels in her eye, now it is gone.  Her blood pressure has NEVER been normal in 45 years of marriage.  Her heart use to beat very high, over 150 a min is now 68 a minute.  Her Blood pressure is 115/68.  2 friends who are diabetic no longer need there medicine.  Just try it for one month & see what happens.

The recommended daily calorie ratios are as follows:

55% carbohydrates
30% fats (no more than 10% should be saturated fat)
15% protein

I am a Keto/Low Carb person myself... If I did 55% carbs I would be bloated beyond belief.

I range about 40% protein/40-45% fats/15-20% carbs (carbs are from veggies--no starches).

Highest Weight: 340 (7/2/14)  Initial Consult: 327.8 (2/24/15) Home Weigh In on Surgery Date: 291.8 (5/11/15) Today's Weight: 187.4 (5/20/16) Total So Far: 152.6 Pounds!!!!!!

I'm the same.  I have grains/starches 2-3x a week, most of my carbs are from vegetables.  I'm less than a year out from surgery, my calorie intake is 800-900 a day.

It depends on the type of surgery you had. A DS procedure has much different requirements than say a lap band.

In general, aim for high protein, some good fats, lower carbs and sugar.

Just reviewed with my doctor today. As much protein as I can eat at each meal (I have a sleeve so not much), fats and non starch veggies without restriction, between 0 and 15 carb grams at a meal ideally 30 or less per day (not including veggies).
