Obviously when we do eat we can only consume very small amounts but I was under the understanding that Salad was a no no even in small amounts.  Is anyone out there eating small salads and if so does it have any complications or does it help?

You have very little room for food, why waste it on something with no protein?

Sure you can eat them... but if you aim for the protein in/on a salad you don't have a lot of lettuce room left so I don't make a lot of lettuce based salads. I use cucumbers as my crackers love those: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2011/07/cucum ber-crackers.html

I have incorporated some salads into my diet (2-3x week).  It's usually Romaine lettuce, with chunks of chicken, tomatoes, black beans and corn.  I use salsa as a dressing.  I have a very difficult time getting meat down, but this combo works for me.  I'm 10 weeks out from surgery.
