Pre-Op 2-week liquid diet protein smoothies- skim milk vs almond milk vs cashew milk
I will be starting my 2 week liquid diet of the the powdered Physicians Protein/Proti-VLC Smoothies, the ones with the packet of smoothie bases and the separate flavor packet. I have the choice of mixing them with skim milk, unsweetened almond milk, and unsweetened cashew milk. I am wondering which one gives the best flavor and/or makes the shakes more tolerable.
I always find real milk the most tasty, but I use almond milk since its the lowest in calories. Lately I've been just using water or unsweetened tea to make some of the Syntrax protein blends.. You can spend more and get the Fairlife milk if you want which has 1/2 the sugar/carbs and 2x the protein of normal skim milk.
Another option is to spend more and get the Fairlife milk if you want which has 1/2 the sugar/carbs and 2x the protein of normal skim milk.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I wouldn't worry about calories while on the luquid diet... I would go with what you think tastes best. For me I find real milk more satisfying and have started to use the Fairlife as well.

It's really personal preference. I prefer unsweetened almond milk.
