thank you! i feel like i really  know nothing about loosing weight. Ive tried for years and failed and i just thought it was me. its hard to give up sugar to be sure. dietitian said eat protein first and nothing with over 15 carbs a serving. if i have room than to eat veggies. that's for after surgery. i am still tying to get approval for it almost completed everything necessary done now. i just want to start early and loose now too. any advise for daily eating?

I feel pretty dumb here and its a stupid question but I apparently need help. I'm still waiting on approval to get a Sleeve so I don't currently have a WLS. I had a Lap band that was removed.  I've been on a medically supervised diet for over 3 months and loosing an average of 2 lbs a month... 1 lb one month 6 lbs one month and 1 lb one month. Dr says its calories in vs calories out to follow my fitness pal app. it says due to weight and lack of activity to have 2200 calories a day. i dont et close to that ever. My average is 1200 calories... i'll be extremely honest probably half of that is pop and im working on getting rid of pop but im wondering if maybe  i'm not loosing because im not eating enough? enough healthy food that is to make my body not store everything? I don't know im so frustrated

My advise is to look up the Paleo diet.  This is a high protein, very low carb, low sugar plan which is similar to post-op WLS.

2200 calories is to high and I understand that giving up pop is tough, but do just do it.  Just replacing the pop with water will help you feel so much better.

Losing weight whether on your own or with the tool of a WLS is hard.  You have to realize that you will be committing to a lifestyle change.

Also check out the "what you eating" threads on the different surgery forums.  It will give you an idea of what and how much others are eating.  Make sure you measure and weigh out your portions.  This will help when you do get the sleeve.

Best of luck to you.

thank you for the advise. I have tried the paleo diet before not for very long because its hard to work it in on a crazy schedule. It is my goal to eat that way so i should just figure out how to do it again. I notice i keep saying oh ill just have one more pop i'll quit tomorrow... or ill finish the pop i have at home and then stop... but husband got more lol... i do need to just do it. I said that was my motto for 2015 but now i need to make it a reality  thanks!

I think you should change your diet plan, and find one that is easier for you and more convenient for your life style. there are other weight loss program that may or may not work for you, try more eating green, for your busy day try to have drinks that would help you loos weight and keeps you energize at the same time. I been to a lot of weight loss program somehow i get frustrated, i change my diet plan instead and do all green and raw. even trying out green tea and also not all tea work for me except this Starter matcha that i tried and some banana and oats for breakfast and no dinner anything green at lunch.

I admit im a cheater when it comes to diet plan, my weight is not loosing and i been exercising and do a lot of  starvation and even tying out weight loss alternative medicine like an apple cider vinegar. it works for just a few months, but what keeps my loosing weight fast is having green tea into my diet preferably matcha. An hour before meals i drink matcha it is much faster when loosing weight with green tea based on what i experience. of you would like to try out matcha try this http://matchaoutlet.com/matcha/starter-matcha-1lb/  i been using this as frappe. latte and baking.

Hi Judeloren!  This is Logical Remedies.  I was scrolling through some posts and came across yours.  I just wanted to ask why your diet has to be medically supervised?  (Sorry, i don't know much about lapbands or your condition).  I'm a Weight Loss Technician and a Personal Awareness Motivator.  I have turned lives around very easily by giving people a different way to look at things.  If you're losing 2 lbs a month you don't know the full potential of your body...and neither does your doctor.  Your diet will become drastically more successful once you start to think differently.  Yes, stopping pop would be a good start.  If you still need help please let me know.  Have a glorious, logical day!

P.S.  Don't feel frustrated.  It will slow down your progress.

It was medically supervised because I was waiting for aproval for a gastric sleeve. I'm approved now and getting that at the end of March but it's the same problem I have always had. Everyone I know says eat 1200 calories or less a day and you will loose like crazy. I do not loose. I have always had trouble here has to be a lot more to it than eat less calories.
