Daily Calories ??
I had Gastric Bypass on 4/14/15. I weighed 363 when I started seeing the surgeon and 330 the day of surgery. 4 months later I am 228. I've very confused on what my calorie intake should be per day. The dietitian at my surgeons office will not return calls or emails. Basically what I am doing right now is giving myself 1000 calories per day. 4 meals per day with an occasional snack. Then I exercise. I burn between 800 and 1000 cal walking over 5 miles per day. I then eat about 500 of those calories. So at the end of the day after exercise I eat between 1200 and 1500 calories but have had days where I burned even more calories and have had as much as 1800. I've never gained any weight back. I think my weight loss is way above average but I don't want to over eat.
If what you are doing is working then stick with it. My only concern is 1800 calories is a lot of calories to eat being you are that far out - quantity wise. If you are eating that much you should be eating like 6 times a day 300 calories. Whether you are burning it off or not, your pouch is only so big and you don't want to overfill it.
Many people here suggest not eating the exercise calories. I would say if you are hungry, eat some of them... if not- it is not necessary.
You are just coming up on 6 months out from surgery. It will start to get harder to lose at some point and you may need to adjust.

I'm down another 5 pounds since I left the message. The last time I met with a dietitian I was told to stay at around 600 cal a day. With the rate I am burning cal thats not possible. If I burn 900 and only take in 600 I'm going to starve myself. I'm not eating 1800 every day. That's just the most I've seen. Yesterday I ate 1361 and burned 1137. I go see my dr next month. Hopefully I can get this straight. I have a BMI of 29 so I have nothing to complain about. My normal weight is right around the corner!
Like I said, it is obviously working for you... just be careful not to eat too much at one time...
