Try posting on the rny forum, you might get more feedback than on here. I'm a vsg'r so I don't have much advice to give you. I'm not sure how food plans were back then & if it has changed now. What I have noticed is that across all wls, protein forward diets is pretty common. I'm not sure how much you'll need since you malabsorb.

For my plan, I get at least 80g of protein, I shoot for 80g of water, get carbs from veggies first, then fruit, although usually there's no room for all that after the protein.

Don't be so down on yourself, you've realized that you have a problem & are taking steps to resolve it. That's not stupid. I'd also look into therapy to get to the reasons behind your eating, & of course you know, ditch the alcohol. Good Luck!

I am fighting the same battle. I know I need to quit beer altogether but not sure if I can. I live near you in Frederick, lets support each other.
