Diet
I had my surgery (RXY) almost 6 years ago. In the last year, I have gained a lot of weight. At least 30 pounds. I have health issues. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions for me. Basically, I knew this was a tool going in and still haven't used it as such. I eat terribly. Today, I had two mochas. Usually, I have one mocha per day. I eat tons of carbs. I snack. I am extremely concerned and want to change my habits. I get very high blood sugar spike, followed by low blood sugar episodes. I do realize this sort of thing wreaks havoc on a persons' body. We are not meant to withstand these sort of fluctuations.
I've been advised by several doctors to eat a primal diet (for those that have not heard of that, the best way I can explain it is like paleo with dairy). I just have not been able to do eat the way I'm supposed to, and I have serious side effects as a result. For example, today I had a UA done. My glucose was 500. Yes, 500. Awhile later, when my blood sugar plummeted, they did a blood sugar test. It was 56. They gave me apple juice to get my blood sugars back up. It is like this for me almost daily, a rollercoaster of high and low glucose.
I guess I'm just wanting to connect with other people who are going through this, or have gone through this. I want to eat right. But, it's like the old days. I tru and I fail. Over and over. I cannot keep doing this. I need help. Thanks for reading.

Well one good thing is you realize there's a problem & you want to take steps to solve it. Try posting in the rny forum to get more answers & join the back on track forum to get pointers on using your tool properly again., you'll be in good company. Good Luck!
