Post Op Protein?
I just had RNY surgery on Feb 9th, 3 days ago. I have been instructed to follow the same Clear Liquid Pre Op diet for the first two weeks. This is so limiting. I can do it, since I'm not really hungry anyhow and just getting the proper amount of liquid to prevent dehydration keeps me full anyhow. I'm confused about protein, though. Am I supposed to be drinking protein drinks? The ones I've found are not clear.
I use Genepro. I have been on it a year and love it. My labs have been perfect. I had RNY on 10/23/2013 and down a little over 200 pounds. I tried a lot of them and hated them to the point I quit using protein. Then someone told me about genepro and I love it. It is tasteless odorless and does not change the consistency of what you put it in. I order it from a site set up for weight loss patients only. Go have a look there is a video at the bottom demonstrating how you mix it. Good luck on your recovery it was the best thing I ever did. You just need to find a source of protein that it right for you. https://only-the-best-supplements.myshopify.com/
I'd ask your surgeon - but Isopure is a clear protein drink.

I purchased Healthwise fruit protein powder. These are mixed with water were recommended for the post-op liquid diet. Most important check with your surgeon or nutritionist. Good luck and keep me posted.
