Hi all,

I'm quite new here, but I thought I'd share an updated graphic representation of the major food groups. This pyramid is useful for people who are 1 month post surgery. I've been told that it may not be applicable for DSers, but maybe there are people out there who have had bypass or sleeve! :) What you guys think?

It's higher carb than my plan and suggests eating more frequently than my plan.

Dear Gwen,

Thank you for your reply. What are the amounts of protein that is suggested in your case?

My plan requires 60-80 grams of protein a day.

I don't think it's a bad view. The portion sizes are much larger than what my dietitian allows and the water isn't as high. While this picture may be a bit more of a relaxed plan, I don't think it is crazy different from the plan my doctor uses.

Hi GooseGirl!

I also think this pyramid is more of a guide that just reflects the principle itself.

By the way, which surgery did you have?

Had surgery at Nordbariatric, with surgeon A. Maleckas.
