Baby food suggestions
Hi all - I am still about five weeks from my surgery, I'm trying to prepare and taste protein drinks and pureed foods. My nutritionist says most people use baby food at least sometimes as a choice.
Now I have had a baby around me at mealtimes in many years, but I seem to remember that baby food smelled kinda gross.
Can any suggest brands and/or flavors they had success with?
Thanks!
When my surgeon mentioned baby food, I looked him straight in the eye and said, "Not happening!" Baby food still smells gross and there is no reason for you to buy any (unless you want to). I did not puree anything. I had protein shakes, greek yogurt, scrambled eggs, mashed up vegetarian chili, and mashed up soups. Honestly, I really didn't want anything else. It was enough to keep me adequately nourished. Everyone is different, but I was not hungry for the first several weeks after. Good Luck!
I never once consumed baby food during my wls process. It's for babies! I puréed food that I cooked for many family.

Bananas are easy, just mash them. Apples are good, prepare the same way just steam them and squish them in the blender... apple sauce! Mangos and peaches are good and naturally pretty soft. You can mix the fruits, too!
It's a good idea to avoid strawberries, and other berries till he is at least a year old, just in case he's allergic.
