Food sensitivities and celiac's disease
So I have many food sensitivities...egg (only the white), avocado, banana, different types of beans. Have celiacs so no wheat, barley, rye. Also lactose intolerant. All of this and I still managed to put weight on. I was wondering if anyone has noticed an improvement with their food sensitivities since their surgery. I am a little over a week out and wondering what I'm going to eat in the "soft phase" other than fish.

Are you able to eat yogurt? Or does that trigger your lactose intolerance? (I know it doesn't for everyone.)
So once you're in your forever diet, it seems like you'll be fine. I'd turn to the Paleo blogosphere for recipes since they're dairy and bean free and don't use grains. You'll see recipes with eggs and avocado, but those will be easy to avoid. (Clearly your celiac won't change with surgery.)
I've got fructose malabsorption and surgery definitely didn't fix that. Sad times. However, I had also started having issues with leafy greens a few years before surgery and, amazingly enough, I have no problems with greens now!! I'm so happy about this. I can actually eat salad with no trouble. It's awesome. I did wait until I was 4-5 months post-op to try it. My stomach is so much more stable now than it ever was pre-op, though. :)

Hi, thanks for your response and the suggestion of Paleo. I'll have to check it out. I do eat yogurt, have to take a lactaid pill. My irritable bowel is better on this plain diet. Looking forward to the soft phase.
