I am on my first day of the shakes and its not all that bad.

What is the purpose of the shakes for two weeks before surgery anyway?

Can I chew sugar free gum while on the shakes?

My surgery is taking place on November 10th.

VSG on 03/13/14

The pre-op liquid diet is to shrink your liver a bit before surgery so that it will be out of the way and not get damaged. It's pretty important!
