Ingesting coconut oil straight from the jar

My friend is doing a new weight loss challenge and they encourage them to ingest coconut oil to help with suppressing appetite, gaining energy and fat burning.  I have been researching it but can't find anything about it after having RNY. My first thought is we don't have stomach acid to break it down so if we swallow a lump of coconut oil its going into our intestines just like that. I'm just not sure if it would be safe or have any affect for me.  Anyone have information about this?

I have heard quite often people saying that cooking food in coconut oil is beneficial but not for weight loss but other health issues.

Might as well eat some real food ;) http://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/healthy-food-that -makes-you-gain-weight

2 Tablespoons of coconut oil contain about 200 calories and 16 grams of saturated fat (about 80% of our recommended daily value)
