I will have sleeve surgery (removing band) on Aug 15.  I meet recently with the dietician regarding dietary changes.  I had a question after we met and emailed her.  I am not getting a clear answer so I thought I'd post here.

If you had to choose either fat free or sugar free (not both), which is more important?

Also, are sugar and carbs the same?

Here's one of the dilemmma's.  I LOVE coffee.  The creamer I like the best has the following choices.  Which is the best option?

fat free (1 Tbsp = 15mL), 30 cal, 7 carbs

regular (1 Tbsp = 15mL) 35 cal, 5 carbs

1 single (13mL) 30 cal, 5 carbs

Had lapband done 6 yrs ago.  Started at 292 lbs, got down to 212 at lowest but could never find the right amount to keep me from vomitting.  After 6 yrs, will have band removed and have vertical sleeve procedure done.  Starting weight for tracker will change as I get closer to surgery.

It depends on the health issues  that which one would be better for you .I would personally recommend you the fat free as it can save your tons of calories.
