7 months out and i feel like im failing
I have lost 70 pounds and I haven't put any weight on but lately all I want to do is eat even when I'm full. How do I teach my brain to shut off. I don't want to fail but I can't stop. I'm so scaried of stretching my stomach out. I always eat until I'm full sometimes I even get sick. I need major advice. I eat a lot of cottage cheese yogurt and Turkey but I've been craving cake and junk slot.

Hi. You might want to post this on the general forum, or on the forum dedicated to the type of surgery you had. You will get lots of suggestions in either of those. I would suggest you journal everything you eat, then go to a nutritionist and perhaps a psychologist..... but there are others that will give you more information; I hate typing that much...... Take care!
For me, I get it, so I have on had for me chicken wings most of the time for that feeling, I eat 2-4 and i am good, it is ALL about the protein and NO NO NO carbs ayou know the ones that are ALLL consuming no better way to throw yourself off then carbs that send us into a tail spin! You can do this nothing taste better then CONTROL!
Do you journal your food. I find that helps me tremendously! Sounds like you have head hunger and not real hunger so you need to find distractions for yourself and of course not have easy access to the foods you are craving. Protein actually fills you, so if you can stock up on proteins you can snack on or grab when you are feeling hungry and it isn't meal time. Or maybe you need to eat six smaller meals through out the day and not the traditional three meals so you tummy is always full. You should never go longer then 3 hours without feeding your stomach- for many people it is important to eat every 3 hours. Eating carbs makes you crave carbs, so stay away from complex carbs. Is there a group meeting you can attend? I know my hospital has support groups for pre and post surgery patients.
I am 9 months out and only 63 pounds down- I am the QUEEN of slow losing! I too have just started to feel "hunger"-- I loved it when I didn't feel hungry but I have to remind myself that it is in my head -- and keep drinking water to push through it. I keep busy, and don't allow anything in my house that I can't handle. In fact my husband purchased WW PB Sundae treats, thinking he was helping me-- but I learned I can't have those in the house as they have 28 grams of carbs and right now I am not able to handle it-- it will just impede my efforts. So that stuff can not be in my home.
Good Luck- switch up how you eat and what you eat and see what happens.
This is an excellent answer!! The only thing I have to add is to consider including some exercise ..and have a PLAN for how you will handle the next time the head hunger hits you. Can you pour yourself a big glass of ice water and tackle the laundry, or go for a walk, or call a friend, or work on a hobby...you get the idea. Then, you are armed for the next snack attack. Good luck!!
I understand I had surgery in 06. was 412 pounds now am 178. I want too tell you it gets easier but it doesn't you are entering the so called normal world of eating you have to fight it. that is what I'm looking for support with. I'm scared to be giant again but don't want to workout need someone you give me encouragement. I used to look for food that would make me sick so I wouldn't eat. well now it's tough to find food I can't eat. just remember why you did the surgery. to live .. so think eat to live. not live to eat. until ::) get help. I will try my self advice
