411 on Hummus

I just started my pre-surgery diet so I'm trying out new things that will be easy on my stomach. I tried hummus today and I liked it but I'm not supposed to have starchy vegetables. I know hummus is made from chick peas and is high in protein but is it considered a starch? Have any of you heard whether it's a good option after surgery, easy to digest etc. It's also high in fat but it's the good fat I think.

I've tried searching the web but I can't find anything definitive.

It depends on how much tahini is mixed in with the chickpeas. If you use a lot of tahini (sesame seed paste), it will have less carbs. Chickpeas are a good source of protein.

All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither; Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
