I have a nutritionist/dietician who somewhat specializes in Bariatric patients.

She insists that I do not use Black Pepper for the first 12 months post surgery, under any cir****tances.

Anybody else hear anything like this?

It might irritate your stomach is all I can think of.

You need to ask her why... I was never restricted in using black pepper.. (finally ground)

I have found it's best to question anything you are asked to do if you don't understand why.  There were a few things I was asked to do in preparation for surgery that I thought were absolutely ridiculous (and probably wouldn't have done), but once I was given a REASON for doing them, had no problem complying.

And no, I do not have a black pepper restriction.

I am a few weeks behind, but I was never told to avoid pepper. However I did develop an intolerance to it...which is bad cuz I'm southern! :/
