Deficiencies...
I had RnY, then an infection cut off a blood vessel and I lost most of my stomach and lower esophagus. Emergency fix was too short of a stomach, so it ulcerated along with my small intestines. Final revision removed everything and made a 'vertical sleeve' out of small intestinal tissue. Anyway... dealing with resulting Vitamin D deficiencies, low magnesium, low potasium, whacked sodium level (low), and B deficiencies. I am taking supplements for these now, as well as working on eating more solid foods.
My question is... how many calories should I be aiming for each day?? I have bounced up ten pounds and would like to work that back off, but I can't work on building strength and muscle bac****il I get my daily protein and calories in. I understand our goal for gastric sleeve is 900-1200 calories a day. Can anyone share their experience/recommendations??? Thank you!
