Protein for vegetarian
I'm 3 years post Lap-Band and will be going through with bypass later this year. With my Lap-Band, I found getting enough protein with a vegetarian diet was difficult and incredibly boring. I would be willing to eat some animal protein, to make the bypass more successful. What do you think are the "kindest" animal proteins for a vegetarian to eat, meaning probably more mild tasting, not funky textures, and certainly nothing with a face on it. :-) Thanks!! -- Andie
They are plant based. Dairy, gluten and soy free. Also no sugar
added. They are not bad. not the best, but not bad.
You can get them at www.myvega.com
I signed up but there was no fee and no minimum you have
to order.
I also use Jay Robb egg white protien powder. It's my favorite.
Good luck

Vega One nutrtional shakes are not bad. I dont know if I could do
them everyday for meal replacments, but they are not bad.
A little gritty. Ok flavor. The berry was weird cause it was greenish
in color but smelled fruity. The chai was my favorite. I could do that
one again.
All in all they were ok. I would purchase again if I needed to. But the
old fall back is still Jay Robb egg white protien powder.

But if you are looking for "kind" animal proteins, I would say eggs from free range chickens and milk from cows fed on pasture. I buy mine (free range eggs and raw milk) from a local farmer where I can go and see the animals for myself and see that they are being treated well.
