Dairy Stall - Milk=Evil

So for months I kept reading how dairy will cause you to stall lke crazy.  And I generally ignored the advice, the gas, the lack of movement on the scale.  Until a friend of mine who also had WLS said she was giving it up as well.

So I did last Thursday.  Since then....

- Dropped 6 lbs (Previous month I had stalled between 265-261...burning 4kcal a day, cycling my ass off).
- Am no longer a member of OPEC
- Was hungry...I mean...wow, stomach rumbling hungry
- No long...umm..."held up" as oftern as I was.

So, now we have learned milk=evil.  I fully plan on carrying out a total slaughter of the Chick-Fil-A cows shortly.  :-)

This previous reply brought ot you by the American Dairy Council.  :-)

In all seriousness, I wish I didn't have this problem.  And this is based on measured observations on my weight loss, my exercise, and how I have felt overall.

I had been told by my nut, my doctors office, and "conventional wisdom" that dairy is a requirement for post-WLS life.  And I have tried to comply and it made me feel like death, even as they kept telling me "drink...drink...".

So while it's worked for you, it's done the opposite for me.  I now should hit my WLS goal set prior to my one year review next week and keep going for the next several months until I hit my new goal.

Oh and let me add this tidbit.

For the last two months I fought like hell to lose ANYTHING.  The scale would be stubbornly bounce around 263 no matter how little calories I took in or how much exercise I did.

Now 10 days with no lactose....I lost almost ten pounds.  A chunk of that was water weight, but my routine and diet has NOT changed (except for the no milk/lactose part).

And my surgeon, raised on a farm, has us sign a contract, "no milk, no sugar". Sounded nuts to me,but milk = sugar. Check the label. 2 cups = 1 Snickers
