A question about cheese and ranch dressing

Most of the post-WLS recipes I see call for lowfat cheese and everyone on here talks about lowfat dressings. Is it because that is too much fat for us to digest comfortably with RNY, or is it just for the sake of calories?

I am one week out, so I won't be eating either for awhile, but I am trying to do some meal planning in advance.

Thanks,
Michelle

It's pretty much a matter of calories and digestion.  Some people have an issue with digesting fat.  Stick to the low-fat when possible or combine with a bit of regular fat.  Stay clear of no-fat as it usually tastes bad.  You also want some fat so the taste and "mouth-feel" are better...
