6 days until surgery..confused about vitamins.

Is OptiSource Gastric and Chewable Calcium Citrate with extra D enough?

You may want to check with your surgeon or nutritionist, depending on your pre-op program set-up.  I had to take Calcium carbonate for 4 weeks post op; citrate couldn't be used until later.  Good Luck on your Special Day!!  Keep looking forward and keep us posted!

as long as the vitamin is 200% recommended. Calcium Citrate is the best because its easier for our bodies to break down and absorb. Usually WLS patients NEVER take calcium carbonate. I was instructed to take B12 also.  and with the calcium no more than 500mg at a time, but we need 1500mg a day so that 3 times, two hours apart from each other and multivitamins! BUT I would Def call your dr office speak to the nurse and make sure you know what kind, how much to get and ask for brands they recommend! :)   Hope that helps
