Whey protein from walmart

I haven't had surgery yet, but my surgeon's staff encouraged me to start trying protein products and to start trying a modified version of the diet I will be on before and after surgery.  Barring unforseen delays, I could be having surgery next month....so I need to get on the ball and start trying protein powders and shakes.

My son has a huge container of whey protein he bought at walmart a couple months ago when he was training for entry into the military.

Is this powder similar to the more expensive stuff they want me to use later on? Just wonder if it's a good product to start using now to get used to liquid meals? Or does it have a lot more sugar? DIfferent consistency?

I might have to just order some Unjury samples and try out the real thing to see what I think.....and what I like now might be totally different than what I can handle after surgery.....

Any advice?
