So, What's the verdict on the best Chewable Calcium?
I have my surgery in 7 days -- ack! My nurse wanted me to start taking asap either
Citrical Chewables
Calcium Citrate 600mg with Vit. D and Minerals (2x daily)
or caltrate with Vit. D (chewables) 600 mg + Vit. D 400...
After doing some research, I understand that the Citrate is best -- but I can't seem to find people *****commend one brand over the other. Help?
Thanks,
Stephanie

First off, citrical doesnt' make chewables. Caltrate is the wrong type of calcium. You need to take calcium citrate 1500-1800mg per day in 3 daily doses, not 2 doses - atleast 2 hours apart and not within 2hours of your iron or thyroid medication, no more than 650mg at a time.
If you want chewables, you have to go online to either bariatric advantage or celebrate.com and get samples - they have several different types and different flavors, everyone likes different ones. I like the cherry lozenges and raspberry chewies from bariatric advantage.
if you want pills, you can take the citrical - to start off with you are better off with the petites - they are smaller - 200mg each, so you need to take 3 tablets, 3 times per day (one of the doses you can take 2 if you want)

I agree with Rbb. Get some samples and give them a try. I love Bariatric Advantage Chewable Calcium Lozenges in Chocolate. I think they taste good, and I actually look forward to taking them.

Went to vitalady and ordered samples of the bariatric chewables, loved all 3 flavors. Kind of chewy like a taffy texture.
Going to try the lozengers next.
I dont mind the celebrate hot cocoa chewable (turns to a smooth powder when chewed)
but liked the chewy texture of the bariatric advantage better.
