So i was told that i need to maintain between 246- 250 lbs in order to have the surgery. i have a 6 month waiting period. now exactly five months left. Anyone had to do this before, maintaining has been harder than i ever thought it would be. I just cant let my bmi drop below 40 which would be at 245 lb and i also cant gain because thats an issue with the doctor! HELP!!!!!

I hate to be dishonest, but when you're forced to play games, I say go for it. I would lose 5 more, then be prepared to put ankle weights on the day of your weigh-in. You can always make yourself heavier, but never lighter.

Good luck. I stink at maintaining!

In efforts to maintain, you might want to weight yourself once or twice a week.  If you notice you are up a pound, work the next week to lose it, and so on.  Try to keep your eating patterns the same.  Just try to take it day by day.  I hope this helps!
