I'm interested in incorporating flaxseed and/or flaxseed oil into my diet.  I'm curious how you use it, how it tastes, and if it changes the textures of your food.  I'm thinking I may put it into my protein smoothie for breakfast?  I'm one of those weirdos who had a thing about food textures.  Any suggestions are helpful, thank you!

I found these recipes through either google or on the recipe forum.
I make these about once every couple of weeks.

Flaxseed Crackers                            Preheat oven 400 degrees

1 cup    Flaxseed Meal
1/3 cup   Parmesean Cheese, grated
1 1/2 tsp  Garlic powder
1/2 tsp   Salt
1/2 cup   Water

Mix well.  Spread evenly onto silicone lined baking sheet.
Cover with parchment paper.  Roll out to 1/8" thickness.
Cut into strips or squares.  Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Cool on wire rack.  Will crisp up as it cools.

FlaxMeal Pizza Crust                              Preheat oven 425 degrees

1 1/2 c.  Flaxseed Meal
2 tsp.     Baking Powder
1 tsp.     Salt
1tsp.      Dried Italian Herb Blend
1Tbsp.  Splenda
3 Tbsp.  Olive Oil
3 Eggs, beaten
1/2 c.     Water

Mix all together.  Set aside for a few minutes...it needs to thicken up.
Spread onto Silicone lined baking sheet.  Bake for 20 minutes.  Remove from oven
and top with favorite toppings.  Bake for another 10-15 minutes.

***or cut crust into strips for "bread sticks".
***add garlic and parmesean cheese to the crust for different flavor.
***omit the dried herbs and add cinnamon and nutmeg for a "dessert pizza".  Top with Sugar Free Pudding and fruit.

For Breakfast I add 2 Tbsp of Flaxseed Meal to my yogurt.   It adds texture plus bumps up the protein.

Hope this helps.

I use the ground golden flax seed.  I think I bought it from GNC.  I like to use the ground because it mixes easier than whole flax seeds (a little smaller than sesame seeds) would.

I mix 1/2 tsp with 4 tbsp of PB2 that I dip apple slices in for breakfast in the mornings.
