Hi Everybody -

I have a question...is milk (1%) considered 'liquid' as in, can I count it towards my fluid intake?  I feel like the answer is no, but I'm curious.

 Thanks!

Hi Fay,

My doctor counts all liquids (except caffeine) as liquids and so do I. I use Starbucks nonfat, sugarfree vanilla lattes everyday, sometimes twice a day and I drink 30 ounces of diet hot chocolate too. I try to get in water, but since my surgery, I just don't like it as much as I used to, so I forget to drink. If I have a nice hot beverage with me, I remember and drink it. And I know if I don't get enough liquid, I get leg cramps at night.

Most surgeons let you could any non-carbonated, non-caffienated beverages towards your fluid goal.

I count milk, V-8, crystal light, etc.
