Calorie intake with exercise

Hi
I am going on 3wks RNY post op and I was wondering when i start at the gym if i need to increase carbs ....or just stay with proteins? My goal is to start training for a triathelon so i am not sure what the food regime is?

Katie -

Stick with protein this early out.  But remember that you're also suppose to be eating a certain number of carbs in your plan anyway.  It's just that the carbs you eat now will be from veggies, fruit, legume, dairy and whole grains instead of the more simple carbs like bread, pasta, potatoes and sugar. 

Check with your nutritionist about your training program.  She can help you set up a meal plan that will guide you through the weight loss and the training.
