I was just reading a few posts and some have mentioned pouch rules.  What are they?  I'm 3 years post op and need to get a boost to losing weight again.  Can you explain what pouch rules are and if you know anything about the 5 day pouch test?  I will try anything to get back on track.

These are the basic guidelines that we all need to follow for the rest of our lives -- tells us how to treat our pouch to use that tool to its highest potential.  Eat protein first, no drinking with meals or for 30-90 minutes after, water loading before meals, etc.  It is all explained with great detail and makes perfect logical sense.  I follow the general idea of them too.

The 5 Day Pouch Test is a 5 day diet that many people follow to get themselves back on track. Google it and you can find the website.  Many people swear it's fantastic.  I personally think it's not that great.  Why would I go back to a liquid diet and starve myself for a week when I already have a tool that works just fine if only I use it correctly.  I've heard of too many surgeons and nutritionist say not to do this diet that I tend to agree with their advice.

Good luck
