I just found this last night and thought I'd share the info.

One package of this instant oatmeal has 7g protein.  If you make it with milk, (Soy, Lactaid, Skim), you add another 7g protein!  AND it taste good.  It only has 1g sugar too with 20% of your recommended iron (another concern).

I agree it is a great product and have eaten it for awhile - even in my pre-RNY days lol when I went to Weigh****cher. I usually mix mine with water but it makes much more sense to mix it with skim milk - it boosts the protein -- thanks for the nudge on that one!

Some people use this as a snack also

I mix mine with a protein shake.  I also like cream of wheat with Atkins strawberry shake.  It's really good and smells great.

These sound excellent. I make a lower-calorie version, using actual bran (from health food store, but many supermarkets carry it) instead of oatmeal.

1/4 c. wheat bran
1/4 c. 1%-fat cottage cheese
1 Splenda w. fiber
1 medium egg
1 med. egg white

Mix all together and cook in medium pan. Flip when underside is nicely brown.

Another variation is to swap the Splenda for 1 TBS low-fat grated cheese (best for you)  or 1 TBS parmesan (tastier).

The calorie/fiber/protein counts will vary depending on what you add to your basic mix. The basic version presented above has 164 calories, 18.5 g protein, and 7 g. of fiber.
