Hi! Haven't been here in a long while. Things are going well. Just a quickie for anyone out there suffering muscle pain (arms, thighs, calves, all over!!) I don't know if I am "lacking" or if it's just me, but OUCH!! Any suggestions or thoughts??  I get lots and lots of water cause I have kidney stone issues and am thirsty all the time. Not so hot on getting my vitamins in.... I am trying to be better. Thanks!

Just a thought but have you talk to you PCP about this? It sounds like fibromyalgia symtoms. But I urge you to seek medical help.

Yes, I have thought about this. My sister (whom hasn't had surgery) has similar symptoms and my father has polymyalgia (he was diagnosed in his 70's which is usual age). From what I can gather, Fibromyalgia doesn't really have any help. Is this true? Thanks for your help!

I'm really new at this but had protein issues in the beginning and had muscle aches.  How's your protein level?

 Kathi:
Protein is great. I don't have many issues with food at all. Sometimes that alone scares me! Thanks!

There is one medication called Lurica(sp?) I am sure you have seen the adds for it on TV. My 2 of my friends are now taking it and swear it has given them there lives back. Worth talking to your Dr about.

There are studies showing a lot of peripheral neuropathies (nerve pain in your extremities) after WLS. They are guessing this is caused by some vitamin deficiencies. Check with your PCP, you may need to get your B12 checked also.

It sounds like a Vit D deficiency. I was misdiagnoised with Fibro. Had low 25Hydrox D
I keep my Vit/ D level at around 100. I take Vitalady's Bio Tec 50,000IU 2x aday. If I don't my pain returns. I also take 4-5 protein shakes a day in 4ozs of water and just down it.

Good Luck

Thanks! I'm getting my blood work done here this week. I increased my potassium (cuz of stones) and the pain is sooooooo much less. I have also started taking a multi as I was never good about that. Been sooooo tired, so hope this will help. Should have done my blood work prior to starting anything just to see where my levels were, but didn't want to wait anymore. Started to increase my protein today as I really was getting out of the habit of a lot of things and making some new bad ones, if you know what I mean:(, so.....Will check into the Vit D thing too.
